CineCertified is supported by a number of professional camera organisations, rental houses and crew all of which hold a vested interest to improve and strengthen the camera department by creating a standardised benchmark of training standards and competency across the entire UK film, television and advertising sectors.
CineCertified aims to establish an all-accessible, free and guided route through the industry, while safeguarding the learning experience.
We have created a peer-reviewed training system which is assessed by experienced, working professionals. It includes compulsory key knowledge requirement for successful completion and mandatory safety-on-set, first aid and financial wellbeing training. We believe this mandatory training is paramount to the future wellbeing of the department and all crew on set.
Our flagship initiative is the CineCertified Camera Trainee Logbook, which primarily requires ‘on-the-job’ training. The gained experience is then peer-assessed and signed-off by working professionals who themselves make a declaration and acknowledge their responsibility in the trainee’s learning process.
CineCertified will encourage a new generation of well-rounded, conscientious, and capable trainee who will be better prepared to step up and take on the role of trainers themselves and meet the demands for a safer working environment of a growing UK film and television industry.
The wider UK camera department, rental houses and many industry bodies have expressed a clear demand and need for the creation of such training standards in lieu of any current recognised benchmark or framework. And so it is our intention to work with all of them and grow CineCertified into a recognised training achievement for all camera crew to be aiming for and proud of.
